Southern Delight produced an excellent finishing burst to record his 4th career victory at yesterdays Tuncurry meeting.
Jockey Ben Looker gave the son of Southern Image a brilliant ride positioning him at the rear of the field, before saving ground along the fence to peel out at the perfect time and storm home to win by half a length.
That win was Lookers 2nd on Southern Delight from just 2 rides as the pair look to build a strong winning combination.
The win took Southern Delight’s career earning past the $100 000 mark which is an extraordinary achievement for the horse who was purchased for just $600 as a weanling.
